"I recently had the pleasure of working with Mike at the James Carlton State Farm Agency, and I was genuinely impressed enough to write this review, even though we ultimately moved forward with another carrier for now.
After our previous insurer non-renewed our policies following a major storm that damaged our vehicles and home, I was in the market for new coverage and heard about James Carlton’s agency through a local radio recommendation. While I recognize that on-air endorsements often involve compensation, I approached the process with an open but critical mind as someone who values thorough research and value.
Mike stood out immediately for his professionalism and expertise. He took the time to understand our specific needs, asking thoughtful, relevant questions without ever wasting my time or rushing the conversation. His knowledge of the industry is exceptional, he explained options clearly, highlighted key differences in coverage, and provided thorough comparisons that demonstrated real insight.
What impressed me most was his follow-up: consistent, helpful, and never pushy. He kept me informed without any high-pressure tactics, allowing me to make an informed decision on my own timeline. "I listen to 101 ESPN radio and have been hearing the ads and testimonials re: saving money on home and auto insurance and decided to give them a call.

"The service and communication that you get from Mike and Stephanie are literally world class. I have a hail damage claim going on and they kept me updated very consistently. "I had a good experience. It started with my neighbor knocking on my door to tell me my car lights were on. When I got outside to check. I try to start my car but it was completely dead. I called State Farm and I receved service right away. First with the app then with a couple of phone calls and text messages. The tow truck driver was there within 30 minutes. He called when he was outside and it took him less then 10 minutes to get my car started. He told me I could drive for at least 15 to 20 minutes. I am very satisfied with the service I received. Thank you State Farm for everything"

"I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional service I received from the State Farm agents! Throughout a challenging time, they were professional, friendly, and incredibly supportive. From the moment I first called, the agents went out of their way to guide me through every step of the process. They made sure I was aware of all the documentation requirements and explained each step patiently. Their knowledge and willingness to assist made a stressful experience much easier to handle.

One thing that stood out was their genuine care and empathy. It was clear they wanted to help me get back on my feet and were dedicated to making the process as smooth as possible. I never felt rushed or left in the dark—each conversation was thorough, and they took the time to address all my questions and concerns.

Ps thank you for Lyft coupon . I wanna note that this review is long overdue all events took place on December 23 so things were very on a time crunch because it was the day before Christmas Eve. Everybody was closing down early. I have a 25-year-old car and locksmith were charging me $500 and also there were some locksmith that were pushy. Unprofessional just seemed like I was a bother another female to bother them, but McKenzie found me a locksmith that I have permanently put on my phone. I want to leave his link here. He is very affordable respectable he worked on my car for an hour. He was very determined to get me a key he was not gonna leave and he gave me two pieces for the price of one and only charged me $200."

"After having James Carlton as my agent for many years without filing a claim; I was the victim of theft. I filed a claim, but it was denied. I asked James to correct the mistake. He said it was not his job to facilitate claims. That leaves his job only to be collecting commissions. He refused to send someone to assess damages caused by the thief. A totally useless agent."

While I'm always happy to help explain the claims process and advocate for our customers (as we had a scheduled time to do), all claims decisions - including investigations and inspections - are handled by State Farm's claims department, not the local agency.

Because of privacy regulations, I'm unable to discuss claim details publicly, but I'm always willing to review next steps or options directly if you'd like to reach out.

"Recently we got some correspondence from State Farm saying we needed to send pictures of our home and it’s surroundings. Before I even had to call in to figure out what was wrong, Barbara had come over and taken the proper pictures and sent them in and the whole issue was resolved! So professional!! "Insurance companies get a lot of criticism, I understand that. I can speak to my own experience and say that my agent, James Carlton, and the employees who work for him are absolutely top-notch. They are super responsive. They do not shy from trying to help me. If you have a State Farm agent who is not doing his job for you, or an agent from another company, take a look at this agency. They know who I am by name!
I once had an agent for years and years, and he never called me, and did everything he could never to help me in a crisis. I left and went to James Carlton State Farm and it’s like I have a friend."
